Texas Department of Family & Protective Services~ A listing of all Registered & Licensed Home childcare providers as well as center based care in Texas. ***LISTED homes may only care for (3) children not including their own, are never inspected by the state and are not required to follow any minimum standard safety laws of operation! A home caring for more than (3) children must be registered or licensed by the state. Why Texas has not enforced a Listed home to comply with the same laws and minimum safety standards as a home caring for (4) or more children is unknown and needs to be changed. Parents, make sure you know the difference between a Registered & Licensed Home and a "Listed" home. Listed means their name has been listed with the state and nothing more.
